I moved to Malawi in 2008 to manage the biggest sponsorship of school sport in Malawi's history – the National Primary School Football & Netball competition (click to see footage of this). I spent a year successfully delivering this thrilling competition and then stayed for a further year helping build a major agricultural business. I now am leading a squads of valiant British footballers out to Malawi in June and October 2012, following the inaugural tour in September, 2011.
You will tour an amazing, beautiful and inspiring country in the heart of Africa and play in a series of matches that you will never forget. With my many friends and connections in Malawi we have put together a unique tour, packed with as much action as you want and as much tranquillity as you can absorb and the special privilege of mixing with Malawians – the most warm hearted people in Africa and amongst the poorest too. It will be both a cracking holiday, a great tour and a real life changing experience.
On the following pages you will find information about one of the
most exciting and adventurous football tours ever, deep into the
warm heart of Africa. This tour is for adventurous footballers,
wanting something more than lying on a beach for a week out of
a holiday. You’re going to have to be up for it, ready to experience
Africa and wanting a holiday off the beaten track.
Unlike other commercially based tours any profits made from this
tour go directly to fund the re-establishment of the National Primary
school football and netball competition in which over 100,000
Malawian primary school children participate, whilst using the
competition as a structure to provide HIV/Aids, health, education
and social awareness messages to some of the world's most
impoverished children.
Come on – let’s go on tour Malawi style!
Kufunilani zabwino! Wishing you well!
